It's really not that useful, the video is basically pseudoscience. What he describes has little to do with actual physicist's theories about higher dimensions.

Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy. "Popular parlance" is not the same as philosophical meaning, in the same way that "theory" has a different popular meaning from its scientific one.
