Why is there no private messaging allowed outside of a friend list?  Why do I have to be a "friend" just to have a private conversation?   Why does someone else have to be accepted as my "friend" just to send me a private sentence?  It is rather anti-communal in my opinion.See More

"Lol "2 very lonely neurons in her head". In my mind a god is like an imaginary friend. When people are told that a deity doesn't exist they perceive it as an attack on their best friend, hence aggression. Sad really."

Illogicality when theists say god bless to a victim.

Today poking around Youtube I stumbled upon a video topic: Jasenovac. A death camp in the Nazi puppet state of Croatia. I learned that the Vatican was a willing accomplice in the genocide of Yugoslavia's Orthodox Serbians, Jewish and Roma population from 1941 until 1945. The savage butchery carried out on 600,000 men, women and children made Auschwitz look like a country club.  This was less of an efficient death factory, it was up close and personal.  People were killed mostly by hand with…See More

It's not a theory.

Isn't it about time we, meaning humans, stop calling Natural Selection a theory.  I think it needs to be called what it really is, a discovery.  It's been proven.  Evolution is observable it's not a theory.  I find it irritating to still read "theory" in books, magazines, TV and the web.

ORIGINS: UNIVERSE, LIFE, HUMANKIND, AND DARWIN

We debate origins of the Universe, life, Earth, humans, religion, atheism, using common sense, evolution, cosmology, geology, archaeology, and other sciences, to repel biblical creationism and other religious beliefs.

A god and the god not God!

It's quite frustrating to read atheists writing and using the word god as a proper noun when it is a common noun.  We expect theists to use it as a proper noun because they assume that the deity is real and specific. A common noun is something that does not need to be capitalized and is not specific, examples are truck, house, dog, or man, whereas a common noun needs to be capitalized and is very specific such as Ford, the White House, Bulldog, or Edward. The word god does not specifically…See More

Greetings, Geoff! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Hi Geoff, and welcome to this wonderful world of Internet atheism----a haven from the superstitious nonsense of the fictional god of the masses.

We invite you to make good friends by joining the busy group "ORIGINS: Universe, Astronomy, Life, Earth, Humans, Religion, Evolution, Darwin..." with its 400 discussion topics and 2400 members.
