As a lifelong atheist: I support the ideas in Greg Epstein's Good Without God. I am firmly opposed to people who want to impose their religious beliefs on politics and government, the legal system, in all aspects of life, and on other individuals--I believe such people are dangerous to those of us who wish to live our lives without God. With this said, I do have respect for those who believe in a god who is compassionate and loving, and practice a religion that is compassionate and loving. With that said, I don't respect too many religious people.

I also believe that we atheists often fall short on the local level, where our meetings are often boring and uninspired, and do little to uplift the human spirit. I am interested in the Sunday Assembly idea href="http://www.sundayassembly.com">www.sundayassembly.com) and would be happy to discuss it with you.

I also recommend Eco-Logical and Climate Concerns, since California's climate is changing so drastically.

After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.
