"While that is technically accurate, it is a bit misleading. It is the dollar amount that has increased that matters (or at least the dollar amount as a percentage of GDP), not the percentage increase over when the President took office. …"
"I'm not sure that is the case. I'm no fan of Romney, but from what I've seen in interviews, he takes a view that what the Mormon church teaches applies to him, but is not for him to apply to everyone else. For example,…"
"I guarantee there won't be anything in the show that will make any Christians question their beliefs. I'd like to see a similar show hosted by someone like Penn Jillette and with the nasty bits of the Bible included in the…"
I was doing some genealogy research and came across a newspaper article from 1908 that talked about a couple of speakers who were going to give a talk about the fraud of "Christian Science". Arthur G. Frisbie and Frederick W. Peabody gave the speech in Cleveland, OH. See More
"During the Hagar era, Van Halen had a song on 3 consecutive albums that kind of took a shot at organized religion. The first was "Best of Both Worlds", the second was "Mine All Mine" off OU812, and the third was…"
Paul Verhoeven, whose film credits include Showgirls, Robocop, and Total Recall, among others, has been given financial backing to direct a new film about Jesus, which discounts all of the miracles about Jesus and, instead, portrays him as a radical prophet who tried to perform exorcisms and never envisioned himself as a personal savior. …See More

Hi FT, please consider joining my new group HERCULANEUM: A PLACE FOR MEN. Herculaneum is a group where men can discuss and explore the ideas, goals, demands, ethics, sexuality, and nature of manhood and masculinity. It is a place where we are free to be ourselves, and discuss the issues most important to our identities as men.
I have already started two discussions to get us going: How do we define manhood in the 21st century? and Rites of Passage: A Lost Ritual?.
This is a private group, and discussions can be viewed by members only. Membership is open to men only. Please check it out.
As for the way you describe yourself as being agnostic. the acknowledgment that their could be a diety is actually the norm among atheist. What atheist are saying that there isn't a god, agnostic would actually say is there may or may not be a god. What you are saying that you don't believe in god is what is defining you.
Don't let the christians define you. Let yourself and the people you like associate with define you.
