Shocked to see people on a facebook account I follow still believe in hexes and curses. Grown adults! Nothing sadder than gullible adults who really oughta know better. If they replaced that gullibility with just an ounce of skepticism, they'd be all the better for it. Of course there is no shortage of charlatans out there ready to sell you potions and amulets to remove whatever spell you might be under. Too bad there is no antidote for stupidity.

People who abandon organized religion but still believe in a creator/god, are what I call "halfway there." At least they're not out to hurt anyone with their beliefs, or impose their doctrine on anyone else. You hear a lot of people say, "I'm not religious, but I'm spiritual." Just had a flash of memory of being a kid and drawing peace symbols on everything and being scolded because it was a "broken cross" and therefore satanic. I spent much of the morning yesterday, debating christians about gay marriage, on facebook. Some of the arguments were 'god made marriage to be between a man and a woman,' 'men parts were made to fit into women parts,' and the age old favorite 'if we open the door to gay marriage, then we open the door to people who wanna marry children, animals, multiple partners, etc.' People truly are living in a religious bubble which cannot be penetrated by logic and reason.
