Filipino joins Danish atheists

In all things rational and humanist Denmark (with Holland) seemed always to have led Europe on the right path, however, as it is the appetitive part of the human psyche that rules the world of geopolitics, we are all at the mercy of the cultural mood of the United States, the world's remaining superpower, and right now, because of the economic depression, American religion (evangelical Christianity) is on the ascendant, just like in the 1930s. From drugs to abortion to same-sex marriage,…See More

To be an atheist is to be an Evolutionist

To be an atheist is to be an Evolutionist, because like all belief systems, atheism has to account for the existence of the cosmos. And Evolution begins not with the primordial soup of the young earth but with the Big Bang itself, when matter first came into existence, specifically element one, hydrogen, then, after the first stars formed and went supernovae, elements six, seven, and eight---carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen. Our sun is said to be a third generation star, because of the presence of…See More

The Ultimate Outsider

Posted on May 23, 2009 at 11:30am 4 Comments

As a gay person I would have felt at home in ancient Greece, but as an atheist I would have been arrested and forced to drink hemlock or something. In present day China, I would have felt at home as an atheist, but then the communist party thinks homosexuality is a Western perversion that has somehow penetrated China, an undesirable import the cultural revolution failed to eradicate. Hi
Welcome to Atheist Nexus with its 8000 good friends.

A useful group to join, with its 130 discussions and numerous video films, is “ORIGINS” (Origins: Universe, Life, Humans, Evolution, Religion....).
One discussion (over 70 posts) is "Proud to be Atheist". There's much to feel good about
because atheists and humanists hold the intellectual high ground--—far from the mental slavery of superstitious people who submit to a narrow-minded controlling clergy with their imaginary god, heaven and hell.
