I'm just simply an atheist, as far as this site is concerned. My boyfriend is deployed to the Middle East, and he's an atheist too (Oh snap, there ARE atheists in foxholes!). I've gotten pretty sick of hearing about how we need to find god to ensure that he's going to survive... uh, I'm pretty sure avoiding bullets and bomb fragments are more integral to his survival.

Errrrrr, not sure I see your last comment. Air travel is quite safe. Your odds of surviving a flight from coast to coast are better than your odds of surviving a drive from coast to coast, statistically speaking. Of course that doesn't take driving ability into account.
Either way, though, yeah. Kuwait is the perfect place for a 'combat' deployment. I think the odds of the Mideast revolts spreading to Kuwait are damned near non-existent. For a middle-eastern nation, it has a relatively high level of social equality.
