"Re: Hitchens' Missionary Position: The best place to look for it is at Half.com...IF you don't mind buying used books. It's a very short (97 pages) trade paperback; I got my copy free when I subscribed to CFI's magazine…"
"The most despicable thing that Agnes Bojaxhiu ("Mother" Teresa) did was to constantly speak out against abortion and contraception. When she was asked why she encouraged overpopulation and famine...and people having more…"

"Re: wasting tomatoes.
How many of you have read The Missionary Position; Mother Teresa in Theory and Practice by Christopher Hitchens? He describes an incident in Rome one summer when everybody seemed to be having bumper…"
"Melinda, my parents weren't perfect; there was a 10-year period when I wanted to shoot my father because he couldn't stop drinking, and (like most alcoholics) thought nobody noticed because he mostly drank straight vodka. Vodka itself may…"
"I think "Space Oddity" has gone "viral;" three friends have sent it to me today.
Re: Mothers Day (and Fathers Day next month)....I'm afraid that all they do for me is remind me of how much I miss both my parents. I…"
"I know exactly why that cat is not speaking to anybody...he/she did some typically funny "cat thing," and got LOL'd at.
My fat black cat (long gone) used to play Ice Hockey in the kitchen; he'd come running when he heard me…"

My fave, "Low Frog Along the Coast."
Now I have a print job I need to finish before I crash for the night.

"I don't understand why some cats react to the sound of any can opener when most people open cans of cat food by using the pull tabs.
Is it something in their DNA from the days before pull tabs?

I NEVER wanted to be a homeowner. "

"Or....menopause is a blessing.
I know some women have physical problems for a few years; I never did. BUT I've never understood why many women carry on as though it's the end of their femininity, if not the end of their lives. It…"
Retired Bookkeeper, pet-sitter, chorus girl. I was raised as a casual believer, but figured out when I was in my mid-20s that the universe is vast, this planet is less than a grain of sand, and that nobody was going to take care of me but myself. It was the most liberating experience I've ever had...like feeling a 100lb bag of fertilizer had fallen off my shoulders. I am a member of FFRF, and enjoy driving fundamentalists crazy.
I love reading, especially Golden Age SF...I loved Robert and Ginny Heinlein, and miss them both terribly. I also love Anne McCaffrey for creating a world without religion, and Mercedes Lackey for creating a country whose only motto is, "There IS no 'One True Way.' "
I'm also a major cat fan, but am catless right now, so I have to go to www.icanhascheezburger for my daily furry, purry fix. (I really love Basement Cat...the polar opposite of Ceiling Cat) I get a LOT of laughs out of the LOLcats Bible Project ... translating the buybull into LOLspeak. Akshuly, I love all animals, but CATS RULE!
PS: That B&W photo of me was taken in 1958 when I really was a chorus girl in Holiday On Ice...had more wild times with that show than you can imagine.
