Dear Mr Bruckner
Why don't use the nontheists the "materialist" terminology among atheists? Materialism is a natural, scientific description of the nature. It was the official ideology of the former socialist countries in Eastern Europe. I think atheism is an ideology "created" by the theists, but materialism based only our nature around us.
Herculaneum is a group where men can discuss and explore the ideas, goals, demands, ethics, sexuality, and nature of manhood and masculinity. It is a place where we are free to be ourselves, and discuss the issues most important to our identities as men.
I have already started two discussions to get us going: How do we define manhood in the 21st century? and Rites of Passage: A Lost Ritual?.
This is a private group, and discussions can be viewed by members only. Membership is open to men only. Please check it out.
He was great wasn't he?
Sad thing is, as much of a walking cliche as he is, those people very much exist. Every movement, every word out of their mouths is designed to look like the very cliche they're emulating.
"'Male Refractory Period' (MRP) that shuts us down after one or, sometimes, two full orgasms."
When I was a teenager, I could pop 3 times in less than a half hour.
I'm trying to defend the right-to-the-burqa in France, I really am. But then stories like this really does leave me wishing we could outlaw an entire religion.
