"If we don't manage to restore the original national motto "E Pluribus Unum", the American Humanist Association proposed an elegant, and easily photoshoppable, one-character edit:
"In Good We Trust".
I'm against religion because it's holding humanity back as a species. It makes people be satisfied with the ideas of a 2000 year old book rather than facts.
Atheism proposes positive disbelief rather than the mere suspension of belief. It's so stupid when people say atheism requires faith. After all, you only need faith when you're talking about something that's in NO WAY verifiable.
Something like a God.
If you're going to tell me that a God exists, you've got to show me some actual proof of his existence. Otherwise, I've got no reason to listen to you.
Hi there! Thank you for wanting to be my friend! I enjoy the photos and quotes you've been posting very much.
I'm currently re-reading my collection of Robert Ingersoll books because I love his occasional sarcastic and cynical remarks about the buybull and the barbarians who wrote it. He comforts me MUCH more than trying to believe in Jesus ever did.
I'd like to see an illo that makes it explicit that the "sweet baby in the manger" was destined to be nothing but a human sacrifice to his own fragile ego...I'd do it myself, but I don't know Jack about manipulating images.
Keep on posting!
PS: I'm seconding Ruth's invitation for you to join Hang With Friends ...it's very casual and relaxing. And also a good place to rant about anything...religion, or even personal stuff. People there are very understanding and tolerant. Grab your favorite beverage, a cushion, and make yourself comfortable!
Considering that pic you posted: "Victim Of Religion," there is a YouTube channel - Religion Hurts Humanity - which I think you would find very supportive of that position. I've been posting its monthly output: "What religion has contributed to the world this month" to the Religious Discussions portion of this board.
After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.
On a personal note, I’ve developed an animated gif technique, sort of “pull quote marries slideshow”. Samples are scattered across various groups, but you can find them easily by going to my twitter account. Each tweet has a link (after the description and before the hashtags) to a visually rich example here at Atheist Nexus. If you like them, please follow me
Retweeting will spread the word about our climate and draw new people here to Atheist Nexus.
