Long Journey from repressed ignorant southern boy raised Jehovah's Witness southern baptist and pentecostal all in the same household to a Proud Atheist. At 47 I feel driven to fight for civil liberties that are constantly under attack by religion and to hopefully make a difference. Sickened by the daily deluge of symbols and references to a god and I am ASTOUNDED so many people are unable to break free from their social conditioning which began as infants.

I recently joined this discussion group and am thrilled to have found many like minded individuals. I was raised jehovahs witness southern baptist and pentecostal all in the same household so I do know something about the other side. As a small child I never "got it". I am a lucky man but I digress.
