I Was born on the Island of St. Kitts West Indies. Always known myself to be a free thinking "human being." I do not believe in any kind of organized religion, so I consider myself to be agnostic/Atheist if there is such a thing.
It is so sad that so many of my fellow Islanders are so brainwashed into believing in such far fetched idiocy of a fairy tale called religion. We literally despise and hate each other because of "the big lie."
The white slave master,our parents and the brutal black preachers did a real number on us Island folk. We are so blinded by religious DOGma,that we can't see the forrest for the trees. This is why we need an all seeing eye DOG/GOD to lead us around by the balls.

I reallly hope that we can make some inroads into the holld that religion has on our islands. I saw on your profile that you are from St. Kitts originally. What was the environment like there as far as religion was concerned? How did you break free to become an atheist ?I was actually in St. Kitts earlier this year while I was doing my Caribbean renewable energy research. A very lovely island.
Looking forward to hearing more of your story and keep up the fight! It will make a difference in the end.

Alice said… My Auntie is from an Island in the Caribbean, but I can't for the life of me remember which one. I do remember that it's not Jamaica or Guadeloupe. She immigrated with her family when she was a girl to the UK, and met and married my Uncle and had two kids. Thanks for your luck! Alice :)

The Skeptic Hour is a radio show dedicated to helping people begin to think critically about everything. From birth we are filled with the ideas of our households and surrounding communities. Most of us never make it to the point questioning, because we are taught not to; but a few of us at some point in our lives have either a crisis of faith or something dramatic that happens in our lives that shakes the very foundation our unquestionable ideas rest on, and we suddenly start to see cracks and gaps in our way of thinking. We look through those cracks and begin to see things that were once hidden. Fear causes us to deny what we are learning, but as we continue to peak through the cracks, the fear slowly leaves, and before we know it, we've become freethinkers.
