A religion old or new, that stressed the magnificence of the universe as revealed by modern science, might be able to draw forth reserves of reverence and awe hardly tapped by the conventional faiths. Sooner or later, such a religion will emerge.See More

You are quite right about that. Having been in the Samoa;s for the past 24 years, I have a tendencey to associate the bravery to that of the American Indian. They are a proud people, but have a problem with enforcing simple litter laws. I was a Navy…

About Me
Have lived in the US Territory of American Samoa for the past 22 years.
My wife is a Filipina named Eleanor. We are both practicing Atheiests. No Children. 3 Cats, 1 Puppy.
I have written and Published three books. {two are picture books} the title's are:

{The Fear of Living}
Self help Genre, about my Near death experience at the LBJ Tropical Medical Center in American Samoa. This occured in March of 1995, my tenth annivesary in American Samoa.
This experience is what actually convinced me that Organized Religion is not for me. Prior to the experience, I was {More or less} a beleiver. Having seen the orher side of life first hand, I assure readers that Death need not be a dreaded necessity, but something that should be welcomed, when the time comes.

{Wild Geese and Angels}
Dedicated to my deceased Brother Art Harrington. Based on stories of My growing up in the Susquehenna River Hill's of Southeastern Pennsylvania. A fine read, with lots of photos, and Illistrations by my wife, Eleanor.

{Pen-Mar}
A semi fiction book actually based on real life stories of the pre, and Post WW-II days in southeastern Pennsylvania on the East Coast of the Unites States. The story actually hinges around Delta Pennsylvania, Peach Bottom Township, Slate Hill, and the river.

All three books are decorative conversational pieces for any coffie table.

A fellow came to me in the street the other day. He said, "Hey Man," "do you mind if I ask you a question?" "Shoot," I said.

{A} "Santa Clause is real!"

{Q} There are two Santa's on a roof. How can you tell which one is a Baptist?

Pompeii

Posted on September 21, 2008 at 3:35pm 0 Comments

One member of our family has had a life long dream; to re-visit the ruins of the ancient city of Pompeii in Italy.

This is one of two towns covered by volcanic ash and molten lava which was produced from the 79AD eruption of the Volcanic Mt. Vesuvius.

Having visited the Ruins of Pompeii in its early stages of Archological digs during his Navy Days of the early "60's" he has always had a burning desire to return.

Finances however do not permit him to make the… Continue

During a near death expeierence suffered by the Author, Doug Harrington on March 08, 1995, he actually traveled through the Infamous Tunnel that all religous fanatics are so insistant in glorifying.

This inspired the Book {The Fear of Living} which is based on the near Death Expierence that took place in American Samoa, a United States Territory located 14deg. South of the Equator. {Well known as Pago pago}

"The New Order of Hawkeyes Divine Deliverance"

Posted on July 27, 2008 at 2:00am 5 Comments

"The New Order of Hawkeyes Divine Deliverance" is designed to afford a vessel for those who are strapped by either Culture, Religion, or for lack of counsuling on the subject of Free Thinking.

In American Samoa, the poor people are being bled of their meager earnings in the name of God, Jesus, Religion, and Culture.

These people do not stand a chance of standing up for themselves as individuals when it comes down to selection between Christianaty, and Free Thinking.

(90% ) of… Continue

How are you and your wife? Man, coming from the Philipines, Catholicism (or other religions) is just hard to remove from our system. The brainwashing was just so strong that the whole country is infected.

Hi Doug,
I'm really not sure how far Sugar Grove is from Reston -- apparently, there are two "Sugar Grove" locations (http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Reston&1s=VA&2c=Sugar+Grove&2s=VA). As much as I hate to say it, though, either would be in "bible country." I have to wonder when humanity is going to grow up and stop believing in myths. It's the third millennium, and still the delusions persist.

Thanks Ramon;
Here there is a different church on every corner.
The Catholics, and the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa, and the Assembly of God, are the main ones tjhat like to exploit the Poor people by demanding of them more than they can afford.
Lets keep in touch, and do by all means stay in touch with Kristy on the Aussie Net work.
Later Ramon;
Doug
