I think that it's more correct to say that I was prepared to give her the benefit of the doubt. If you cut and pasted correctly, you might notice that I offered no such grounds for excusing her. You must forgive me for misinterpreting your other qu…

@ Dr F. Grogan Actually, that was the supposed plagiarist I was referring to. The last two paragraphs apparently were lifted by him from somewhere else. Whoever were you referring to in that somewhat oblique last statement?

@Tom - I believe that's called a 'modus tollens' exception: A: To make a claim about a theistic being, we must have evidence. B: We don't have evidence. C: Therefore, we can't make claims about a theistic being.

I do know who provided your quote, although I remember someone saying to me once that he may have plagiarised it from somewhere else. You are quite correct about the definitions thing, although I tend to use the term 'agnostic' as it appears that t…

Being agnostic myself, I cop the reverse of this frequently from sanctimonious atheists who deem it necessary to regale me with the tale of Russell's teapot. I usually object to this patronising attitude and I once blogged about my reasons why here.…

Save the Net

The Get Up! group has launched their campaign against mandatory internet censorship. It's worth getting behind.
For those who don't know, the federal Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Stephen Conroy is proposing internet censorship at ISP level. In my opinion… Continue

I haven't blogged much recently

I have been meaning to blog more recently, but I just don't seem to find all that much time to do it.
Here are a couple of things that I've been meaning to blog about:

1. The forthcoming atheist bus advertisements in London. Due January 2009.… Continue

Blogging

Not sure how I'm going to use this blog feature. I suspect that it'll just be too hard to do my main blog and keep this one up to date as well, but I'll have a bash.

In the meantime, my main blog is here: Dikkii's Diatribe

And we'll see if that's that.

Hi Dikii! Welcome to Atheist Nexus. I'm Kris from Queensland. I'd like to invite you to join our Aussie, Kiwi and South Pacific Atheists Group. Please feel free to drop in any time to add a comment, join in a discussion, or to start a topic of your own.

I'd also like to let you know about our Australian working group which is brainstorming ideas for a submission on "Freedom of Religion and Belief in the 21st Century" for the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission. We think it's important that atheists have a voice in this important discussion. If you're interested, we'd love to have your input.

I hope you enjoy the site!

Honestly, one of them could "rift" all she wants, and neither I nor my wife would be that upset. The other one is a big wimp. She's not likely to make a stink over it. She'll just pray harder. She's good at compartmentalizing that way.

It is true that many people take the path of religion to lead them out of destructive life styles. It is also true that people can do the same thing without a reliance on faith (you just don't hear about it as much). You sound like a very nice you…

I thought it was utterly brilliant that he said Abbot's offer of a billion dollars for Hobart hospital was immoral! His refusal of such a ridiculous bribe iis one of the first moral acts I've ever seen from a politician. Clearly the man will have a…

I've seen posts about the 50 commandments of jeebus put out by xtians that cite chapter and verse and you really don't need a commentary to go along with them. Boy it sure does kill the whole GOP/Tea Party platform.
