David Flynn replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?
"I don't know if a matter of living longer. What I wil say as an atheist its' about making the most out of the life we do have. As far as living longer you have to measure between quanity and quality. Depak Chopra has written books about…"

Jim DePaulo replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?
"Devon, Jim would you NOT avail yourself of extending life for even 20 years if given the opportunity? I said as much in the post, making sure the 4 score we do get we have the health and vigor to live it fully and maybe a modest jump to a 5 score…"

Kelly M replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?
"What worries me is if we are pushing toward living so much longer and even immortality, what happens to the value of time? I mean, if you have nothing but time, why would you be in a hurry to do anything? I mean, you have forever, right? How would…"

"I remember reading some really great essays on the future of nanotech, Chris Pheonix, you should read his stuff, brilliant guy, I wish I could remember more of what he was talking about, but he emphasized quite a bit the use of responsible…"

Devon Fowler replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?
"it's almost impossible to predict where these promising technologies will be in say 50 years...Nanotech is already a building market, and there are nano made materials, whether molecualr assemblers, nanofactories, nano solar power, and others…"

Devon Fowler replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?
"I think if you read Aubrey's theories on how to repair the failing mechanisms of aging, you might reconsider, in that, he is brilliant and backs his theories up with proposed ways of his engineering approach. However, whether if he will get…"

Devon Fowler replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?
"I agree, and there was a very good rebuttal to his ideas, showing that he uses the term "exponential progress" as a magical type of word where things will just somehow take off where computers will magically become sentient, and this guy…"

Devon Fowler replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?

Devon Fowler replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?

Devon Fowler replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?
"sorry let me make a quick distinction...life extension is extending life by some amount, radical life extension is at least a few decades, and indefinite life extension would happen if we could halt or reverse aging, and ensure that we would stay at…"

Devon Fowler replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?
"Finally to reply to Jim's post, Jim would you NOT avail yourself of extending life for even 20 years if given the opportunity? See, I know it is unfair to the generations who don't benefit from robust life extension, (and I'm quite…"

Devon Fowler replied to Devon Fowler's discussion What are your thoughts on life extension? What about Transhumanism?
"People keep thinking I am talking immortality when I'm talking life extension, WITH the problem of perhaps living quite long if we can successfully halt the aging process or reverse it, again read Aubrey De Grey's theories by wiking him or…"

We certainly do only have this one life, which is why radical life extension is so imperative to our advancement as a species. Please join my petition on Imminst to create a Centers for the Prevention of Aging to work in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control. Thank you so much for your contributions to this project. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
