All we need here are people who are willing to break with tradition. Jose Rizal already made an example. It's all up to us now Filipino freethinkers, secularists, atheists etc. to fuel the fire that he started.

- An atheist American friend of mine that lives in the Phil -- a very big & tough guy with lots of military & martial arts training -- recently wrote to me that it is dangerous to publicaly announce one's atheism there. He added that he has been silent about his atheism for that reason. I wonder how many Filipinos would agree?
