David Prentice replied to lol mahmood's discussion New atheists don't understand philosophy
"This WAAAAY later, but . . . . I agree with you.   I think we atheists tend to fall into the trap of knowing we are right and not attempting to "bridge this gap" by empathising with our opposition.   In changing a person's…"

Hey Uncle David! Fancy meeting you here... I actually just joined to contact someone I heard on an interview. This was the only contact I could find for him so I had to join. I wasn't quite sure what the point of joining was but by the looks of your blog discussions there are plenty of very important issues to talk about without having to discuss the one thing we all agree on. How refreshing a rational discussion about important things without input from religion.

Thank you! Good luck with your studies! I'd love to pick your brain sometimes. Psychology, sociology, and the like is something that is increasingly interesting to me and it's rare to find anyone that wants to delve into it. :-)

Thanks for the comments David. I have an 11 year old daughter who lives two states away. Her grandmother is very religious and provides doses of indoctrination whenever she can. It's been rough but she's very smart and I can already tell that she struggles with reconciling science and religion. All I can do is keep encouraging her to think and ask and evaluate. It'll work. Keep the faith! Haha.

Hello and a friendly welcome to David Prentice, Greenpeace Fundraiser in New Zealand

We are pleased to welcome you here among the sensible, rational people of this world.

This is a fantastic meeting place with its 14,600 bright people like you who recognise religion for the superstition and brainwashing fraud that it is---
and that God and gods are nothing but fictions wasting valuable space in people's heads.

We invite you to come and see, and to make good new friends.
