Even a 100% die hard skeptic would respect a scientific statement that the chances of the Texas fire and Russia fire last year being a normal fluctuations is 0.13%.

No such equivocation attends a Goddard Institute for Space Studies appraisal of the heat wave that assaulted Texas, Oklahoma, and northeastern Mexico last summer. Their report represents a sea change in high-level climate studies in that they boldly assert a causal link between specific weather events and global warming. The Texas heat wave, like a similar one in Russia the previous year, was so hot that its probability of occurring under “normal” conditions (defined as those prevailing from 1951 to 1980) was approximately 0.13%. It wasn’t a 100-year heat wave or even a 500-year one; it was so colossally improbable that only changes in the underlying climate could explain it. [emphasis mine]

House Elf's are very cool! Hey I'm sorry to hear about the hostility on the site. I just reported a troll not too long ago. The troll was removed from the site. I hope things get better on the site for you.

David, I did not realize there was hostility on this site. I know how miserable that is, having been a target of some pretty nasty stuff from someone who disagreed with me. I read many of your comments, although I am very behind on reading mail. Is there some group that I could receive you comments? Don't want to lose you.

David, please don't leave the forum.  I hope that it has not become too hostile, and I apologize if my posts have contributed to that perception.  I am not a fan of personal attacks as they tear at the fabric of a community - Chris' attack upon Joseph (what have you done with your life) is both an attack and irrelevant.  In addition, Chris has repeatedly posted items completely detached from the thread and prior posts, in violation of AN rules.  I've appreciated several of your posts and hope you continue.  Best regards,

Greg
