Hey! I'm so sorry I haven't said hi, or been able to be over to the meetings, I started a new job at a pet ER and they have been working me like crazy! I really liked the cds alot!! I have them safe and sound here.
Will there be a meeting this Sunday? I will eventually be going home for the holidays, but I decided if there's a meeting I will definitly stay in town for that. It's good that the group is open-minded, we seem to have the same views about gay marriage, etc.
I'm against the war as well, but I do support the individual people that are stuck over there. I adopted a soldier that's in baghdad right now, I wish they could just come home so we can fix up things that are going on in this country.
Are most of the people in the group members of the congregation? I'm not familiar with unitarians, only from what I've read briefly on the unitarian website. From what I saw, they try to cater a little to everyone.
I would be interested in helping start some sort of freethinkers group on campus, I'll be here until August. At that point, I graduate, and I'm not sure where I will go after that. I don't know other atheist students, perhaps you do?
I also write in the forum column for the bgnews once a week, I might be able to give it a plug that way.
Does the atheist group ever do any community service, etc., to get the name out there? Plus, I don't know how long the meetings are, but if you guys are interested in watching that documentary, I have it from the video store for awhile. :)
I did a search online for Toledo area atheist groups, and your post on the bowling green group actually popped up. Does this still go on? It sure would be really nice to finally meet other atheists in person. I have only been an atheist for about a year, and feel completely isolated from others like myself, my own family flat out refuses to believe it. Hope to hear back in the affirmative!
