I agree. We should feel free to express ourselves. If one does not like the material, they have the right to put it down and not read it. The very fact that they are reading it and responding to it by threats and hatred shows their true self. In the…

Cartoons don't kill people, people kill people!

Whether it be the South Park episode or the venerated Lars Vilks who has risked life and limb to exercise his artistic freedom, artists, journalists, and people of the liberal tradition everywhere are being threatened with death or bodily harm for exercising a fundamental human right, the right to freely express one's own point of…See More

Anthropa: Humanism in Action

Posted on December 5, 2009 at 10:33am 0 Comments

Anthropa is a concept to bring a positive and active Humanism to the fore, somewhere between UUism and Humanism, where we can celebrate our several cultures that bind and enrich us with Humanism supplanting superstition; and with hope, to provide and enlightenment charity and outreach to the community at large. If you've been to far too many group meetings where the focus is on bashing the superstitious rather than celebrating life, love and nature,… Continue

"The Lord's Boot Camp" Documentary

Posted on December 28, 2008 at 1:00am 3 Comments

Hats off to CBS for airing this piece and Loki Films (Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady) for once again showing us the nasty truth of how the sausage is made. Like "Jesus Camp" before, it shows indoctrination techniques used by (especially evangelical) Christianity; I loved the "special blessings" (punishments). What's more, their victim targets are the most vulnerable in society, the young and impressionable, the old and frail, and the impoverished. All for a gnostic cult that was effectively the… Continue

Introducing the Yuletide Foundation

Posted on December 26, 2008 at 11:59pm 3 Comments

Please have a look at Yuletide Foundation; Toward a Civic (& Secular) Observance of Winter Solstice: http://tinyurl.com/jultid

This is a proposal for a secular celebration of Winter Solstice meant to be used across society, but especially in the public forum; say goodbye to the preference of Christianity but also to the antiseptic use terms like "Holiday Tree" (which one?). Designed for English-speaking societies, but the idea can easily be… Continue

I would like to keep up with the Yuletide. As a matter of fact, I hope my local Atheist group will be interested in discussing this as an option for next years sign. I will bring this up at the next meeting. Thanks for the post and let me know if you have any other ideas.

Thanks for befriending and following on Twitter. Hopefully I won't disappoint.

So, you're in Washington, eh? Any input on the debacle that took place over there re: the atheist sign in the capitol building vs the nativity vs every other crackpot religious sign?

(And, yes, I know that Seattle isn't Olympia.)

Welcome to the rational world of Atheist Nexus.
Try visiting the various groups including the commonsense/ science group called ORIGINS (Universe, Life, Darwin, etc.) with its video films where the members seek to know the origins of everything.
This is what science and commonsense do very well, in contrast to the useless "god-did-it" dogma of the religious.

That's OK Arnab. Much quicker than the second coming of Christ. Wouldn't want to be hanging by the balls waiting for that to happen.
