Used to think I was an anarchist, too, as a teen. But realized I didn't want a group of bullies running things. The church/religion is a bully, but I don't want the local under-educated, bearded male chauvanist pig locals ruling me either! Mob rule can also take place in an Anarchy. Which mob rules will be kinda up to chance. Libertarian is safer, happier...the individual has freedoms regardless of the popular culture of the day.
I myself have been pretty solidly in the libertarian camp for much of my life. I played around with a number of political theories/ideas when I was younger, but I never really strayed too far away from my underlying libertarian bent. Even though my parents didn't push their political views on me much as a child (or religious views for that matter), it seems that libertarianism runs in the males of my family. My dad is a right wing libertarian, his dad is a minarchist, and his father left soviet Russia on his own two feet during WWII so I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was libertarian leaning as well.
Last summer I stumbled upon the Freedomain Radio website run by Stefan Molyneux. Most all of his ideas really clicked well for me. I was finally able to see completely through most of the prostate propaganda that I had been fed and saw what true freedom is. I feel very fortunate that I broke free of the state while still in my youth; before I begin to teach my future children about politics. :)
