yes,I am a widow,I lost my husband to esophageal cancer in 2006 when he was 38 yrs old and I was 36 I have 2 daughters the youngest of which has had her own cancer battles. At 5 1/2 years out I am finally ready to start dating but being a single mom…
I am single because my husband passed away from cancer almost 4 years ago,my youngest daughter has also been fighting her own cancer battle so doesnt leave me much time to meet people much less date.Of course I finally reached the point where I am…
Dara, I am glad to hear she is 5 1/2 now. I too have had a bunch to deal with in the last 12 months every six months like clock work. My son died Jan 09 - My mother died July 09 - My daughter's intestines riped open from severe crohns caused from stress Jan 10.
As far as the Christian Cult, they all tell me the same stuff, and I just reply with "I guess bad things never happen when you're a Christian?" That usually shuts them up. Christians tell me that if I found God (you know he's been lost for along time now) these things would not be happening., LOL
I see that you RSVP'd "maybe" to the Parenting Beyond Belief seminar. I hope you can make it ... it's a long drive for you (based on the home town in your profile).
If it's helpful, childcare is offered during the seminar in the same building (different floor; suggested donation $5). This is mentioned in the seminar flier.
Haven't seen Religulous yet. Hope to shortly. Some of Bill Maher's comments during his interview with Jon Stewart seem to me to be a bit hypocritical but I love to watch him.
My father died at home of prostate cancer. My wife, mother and I took care of him through that whole thing. I was with my mother when she died of bladder cancer June 10 of 2007 and my uncle when he died of cancer September 30 of 2007. Each situation was different. I know I can't feel the same exact pain as you. It may or may not help to let you know that there are others out here who have gone through similar emotional, grueling, and exhausting experiences.
Hi Dara, Welcome to AN. Please do join us in the parenting group Kristy mentioned. Lots of great parents there willing to help out with advice when needed.
