Well, I suppose that's true, an atheist can solemnize a marriage if they're also a civil servant! But you can't sign a marriage license as an atheist "officiant" otherwise. It is shocking, isn't it? I…
Hi Vash,
I am currently on the local advisory board of Center for Inquiry Portland, and was also among many who attended a training in Portland just last month to become the first "Secular Celebrants" here in the Northwest…

Hi, Dani. I'm a local (Portland) documentary maker, and I'm wondering if you or other parents you know might be interested in participating in a small project of mine. Basically, we're trying to show that atheist individuals/parents are just as if not more ethical/moral than those who are believers. If you're at all interested, please let me know! Thanks, Steven
Thanks for the heads-up on Dale McGowan's parenting workshop. Unfortunately, I hadn't logged in before seeing it and missed it. Anyway, great to see more Portland-area people here. I'll likely "see" you in the parenting forums.
That sounds great about the Parenting Beyond Belief seminar.
There aren't that many Atheists down here at all. I miss Portland and my ability to be free to talk to others without the Lord/Heavenly Father/God etc...always being somewhere in that conversation.
