Positive Atheism

Frequently, the writings of atheists tend to be critical of religion, theistic beliefs, and dogma rather than positive toward non-belief. It’s a necessary tack to take on a regular basis when confronting religious activism in politics, education, health care, and science. I do it myself. However, sometimes it seems that there isn’t enough written about the positive aspects of atheism… how non-belief is beneficial rather than how theistic beliefs are harmful. Sometimes we’re so busy defending…See More

Ken Ham wrote an opinion piece about the new AiG video with the young boy pointing a gun at the camera.

Finding Life's Meaning

Theists frequently make the statement that, without religion and God, there would be no purpose or meaning in life. It's somewhat offensive, but definitely misguided. I decided to philosophize about it a bit in my latest blog post at RationalityNow, if you're interested.

Cheers!

Is God Lying or Making a Mistake?

Posted on March 15, 2009 at 8:29pm 2 Comments

As most of you probably already know, the bible contains a lot of contradictions and inconsistencies. A favorite of mine occurs right in Genesis in chapter 2 when God tells Adam and Eve not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge.

For the details of my take on it, go to… Continue

A Vacation Treasure (Religious Tract)

Posted on March 9, 2009 at 12:22pm 0 Comments

I was on vacation in Mexico last week at a great all-inclusive resort near Cozumel. During one visit to the restroom, I found a religious tract sitting on top of the urinal (clean and resting against the wall... not soaked!). I grab them whenever I find 'em because they're usually entertaining. I made a blog post about the whole thing on my site if you're interested in the amusement. :-)…
