Hi Dale! As well as hosting the Aussie/Kiwi group here on Nexus. I'm also the media and communications consultant for the forthcoming "Rise of Atheism" Global Atheist Convention to be held in Melbourne in March 2010. The Convention is being organized jointly by Atheist Alliance International and the Atheist Foundation of Australia.

I know you have a wide network of atheists contacts, and I wonder if you could let your friends and supporters know that tickets for the convention are now available online at the Convention website. We are expecting nearly 3,000 delegates, so this convention is going to be huge.

Confirmed speakers include: Richard Dawkins, AC Grayling, PZ Myers, Dan Barker, Peter Singer, Taslima Nasrin and many more.

Anything you can do to help us get the word out would be greatly appreciated.

It would be great if you could make it down for the Convention as well!

Dale,

The interview with DJ was excellent! I wish he had read your books first, though. You definitely put a more winsome face to non-theists. Thank you for your work!

I am from Utah and this is how bad i have it as an out atheist. I bought your book off of amazon and the delivery guy left it on my porch. Well my neighbor stole the shipping label and told everyone at her work that I got a book off the internet about "raising kids in a sexual household". Can you beleive that! I went over there and showed her the book and she told me it was just as bad as child porn! so she went to work and told people I look at child porn! She either doesn't know what secular means or she just did it to be mean.

I'm in the process of reading Raising Freethinkers. I really appreciate the work you've done to assemble these two books. I'm finding a lot that is good for my family, my brain and my confidence as a parent. Thank you. :-)

The catch in this case may be that the prosecutors participated in the framing of the plaintiffs before the trail began. As I understand it, prosecutorial immunity from liability attaches only when the trial begins (or so the plaintiffs argue). I ...

this is also why I support the liberal idea of preventing crime by helping people slums and impoverished communities rather than making harsher punishments for them. The prevention of crime is more important then the "revenge" aspect of punishment

Why do we exist? As far as I can tell, we're here simply as the result of a series of fortunate accidents. Life arose on this planet by natural processes and humans are just one of the myriads of experimental life forms that evolution produced.
