I have heard this too. Gays and Lesbians in the 40s and 50s used to refers to themselves as Queers. It was standard word them. I personally can't stand D word. I don't like when teens say thing like something is gay or something along that nature....

I agree. I have to fight my teenage son on this word also. Its like we forgot the history of that word and hatred behind that word. Its a logic that I don't understood. thanks for posting this

Not into the booze, huh? It's a lot of fun to check out the piano playing anyway. I'll let you know if we get a group together for sure.

Atheist Nexus seems to be turning into a good place to make friends. For a long time is was really lame, there was nobody on here. But lately I've been getting to be buddies with people. There is a "Jesus Jammies" group I'm in with some nice people from Utah. I'd like to organize a trip out to the tavernacle for dueling pianos and booze. I think it would be fun.

It's good you have family out here. My brother was here when I moved to Salt Lake but he has moved on. I made good friends here and I love the mountains so this is where I'll stay. When I came out here it was after a bad break-up. It was good to get away from it all. You don't run into your ex at parties or walking down the street. That shit gets old.

Wow, you are just in time for the snow. I am not from here, I moved to salt lake about 8 years ago. I was born in Germany and then moved to Louisiana. Eight years ago I came out here to visit my brother and never went home. Do you still have friends out here?

my sister has my bible that I used when I was still a church-goer. It's a nice KJV with gold trim and archeological information and thematic indexes. I get that coppery blood taste in my mouth just thinking about all the crap I let myself consider...

I found that Jared Diamond's book made some sense, but was flawed in many aspects. Richard Lynn and Tatu Vahanen utterly trashes his thesis in their book "IQ and the Wealth of Nations". Diamond's theories do not account for the fact that the Ameri...

I have argued about a similar issue before. Omnipotence is not possible in reality, and free will isn't possible if there is an omnipotent being. All we need to do is finding just one example of task that isn't possible to perform for anyone in re...

People are already immoral. Religion just gives us warrant to let loose.

Doing more research on the European colonization of American continent, I was exploring the role religion played. I found reference to an event know as the Valladolid debate. This was a debate between Catholic intellectuals about the acceptable tr...
