About Me
Considered myself religiously "apathetic" since I was six and somehow ended up living in the center of the Bible Belt. In 2007 my views on deity shifted abruptly; I can tell you the minute I became an atheist.

Other than that, I'm "normal." (*joke*!) I have a job and a house, too many hobbies, and probably read too much.

I hope to meet more folks who have a rational bent. I'm exhausted from talking with people who hold their assumptions as sacred and figure I'm irrational for coming to "wrong" conclusions.

Hey there - looking at your post on the Atheist Singles -> Introductions thread, too bad I'm on the other end of the country. I too fit in the category of never married, no kids but 2 horribly spoiled kittens, enjoy combining artistic interests with technical/mechanical (oh the whacky designs I have in mind for the RV that is my gypsy home).

Anyway, good to be here on Atheist Nexus and good to know I'm not the only one out there!

I'm in a very similar situation (in Rome Georgia), which may be quite a bit worse than Atlanta, as far as overemphasis on non-rational belief systems, and lack of "thinkers", its taken a while to get used to it, and am still not, found this blog on search re "INTJ" type,

Thanks for the welcome! I love this town, but there are way too many bible thumpers around. The church I went to was in that area, maybe the same one. It's nice to see so many of us coming to enlightened side.

Hello, Crazy.

The rationality and clarity to your response to my post required me to befriend you and drop a line. Your sentiments were actually more succinct and erudite than my own, and I am a little jealous because of it. But I'll get over it. Seems there are a number of purported atheists and secularists who don't understand what atheism and secularism actually are. Non-believers don't congregate. I suppose, though, that's why we're so rare.

Anyway, thanks for that terrific response.

Hey there, I'm curious to that second you became an atheist, can you tell me more about that, maybe on the forum?
