Cortney Howard replied to Atheist Andrea's discussion Are you open about being an atheist or are you in the closet?
"Well I do not usually bring the topic up in my everyday life and sometimes avoid it. However, if the topic is brought up I will be honest. I also have a lot of online atheist friends. Because of this the topic comes up on…"

Cortney Howard replied to Dr. Terence Meaden's discussion When form filling, how do atheists answer the question "what is your religion?" ?
"Its a problem because I hate writing "Atheist" because atheism is not a religion, but in certain cases I want to make my position clear. Some write none just because they do not belong to a certain church but they are believers.…"

Welcome, Cortney! Glad you could join us. :D

Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. You might also like Atheists who love Science!, Atheists in the Biological Sciences, Politics, Economics & Religion, Godless Gamers, Geek & Nerd Haven, Even Heathens Love Their Pets!, Atheist Artists, Atheists who are Artists, Young Atheist Women, Women Atheists, Female Atheists, and possibly Feminist Atheists.

I also recommend Eco-Logical and Climate Concerns, since the climate is changing so drastically.

After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.

On a personal note, I've developed an animated gif technique, sort of “pull quote marries slideshow”. Samples are scattered across various groups, but you can find them easily by going to my twitter account. Each tweet has a link (after the description and before the hashtags) to a visually rich example here at Atheist Nexus. If you like them, please follow me

Hi Cortney

That's a splendid opening statement from you. Welcome to this world of rationality and peace, where pure common sense like yours is enough to lead to the open freethinking wisdom of non-believers.

We invite you to join the busy group "ORIGINS: Universe, Astronomy, Life, Earth, Humans, Religion, Gods, Atheism, Evolution, Darwin..." with 700 discussion topics and 3600+ members.
