About Me
I graduated with a double major in criminology and Spanish in May and will be applying to PhD programs in evolutionary psychology this fall. I enjoy the fine things in life, like cheese, wine, beer and juice boxes. I have an interest in the acquisition of religious and superstitious beliefs, along with interests in evolved psychological adaptations. I was content to "belong" as a Christian until I was about 19 when I realized that too much was being sacrificed for the sake of having a sense of community. Nearly 4 years later, I have found this community and I'm pretty excited about it.

Yes, I'm a literature professor. Here's my faculty web page:

My school has a loose Lutheran affiliation, and though it says that it accepts people of all faiths and people with "no religious affiliation," I still feel more comfortable using a pseudonym, and I'll probably continue to do so until I get tenure. Best wishes, Randy R.

I hesitate to give you advice that you didn't ask for, but I've had a couple of phone interviews, and I've gotten pretty good at them. It may seem obvious, but the trick is to answer the question fully without rambling. Sometimes I ask the interviewer (politely, of course), "does that answer your question?"

I'm sure that you'll do great!

Hang in there on the job front--graduate school in evolutionary psychology is a great career choice. Sadly, I try to steer my students away from grad. school in the Humanities.

That's OK Arnab. Much quicker than the second coming of Christ. Wouldn't want to be hanging by the balls waiting for that to happen.
