I'm a 33 year old atheist living in the heart of the Bible Belt. I am married and have two wonderful godless heathen boys ages 3 and 6. My interests include neuropsychology, the philosophy of science and of religion, astrophysics, reading, French cinema, cooking, cycling, travelling and learning. I was a card-carrying evangelical Christian until I was 32 years old when I began to apply the same sort of logic to my "spiritual" life that I did to every other aspect of my life. I soon realized that I had never really believed a lot of the tenets of my faith in the first place, actually being quite skeptical throughout my entire childhood and adulthood. Following my "conversion" to atheism, I have become far more content, no longer engulfed by the guilt and the "I can't do it by myself" mentality fostered by religion. The truth will set you free indeed.
