Some people are accepting, usually if they are of the younger generation, but most are not. We have a large religious community in the area due to the Bethel Church. So it is difficult to find acceptance and it's very rare to find other non-theists. Luckily I have not had any serious attempts at conversion since becoming outspoken about my lack of faith, but people still recoil when they hear me say the word "atheist".

Hi Chris, it's nice to meet you. I know how you feel, living in a town where everyone follows one form of religion or another. It can feel quite alienating at times!
