There was a knock at my door. It was 2 of my neighbors who I never met. They were handing out invitations to a gathering on March 17th from 11:00 to 1:00. When they left I opened the invitation and it read; "You are Invited! To an informal luncheon to celebrate all God's blessings in our neighborhood! On the bottom of the invitation was Matthew 14: vs 14-21.
My first reaction to the invitation before reading it was maybe I should be polite…

Well, it would be unlikely to be hip dysplasia if the main clinical sign is weakness in the hind end. HD tends to be painful, and the symptoms are a bit different. However, xrays would rule that in or out. Yes, definitive diagnosis is based on histopathology of the spinal cord, a post-mortem thing. Sorry. The only good thing I can say is there usually is no pain with degen myelopathy. You may want to look into some of the devices used to help support the hind end during walking- there are some neat slings and so forth, or a simple bathtowel slung under the belly and held in one hand works ok in a pinch.

It's refreshing to see there is some other folks out there who share my beliefs.
And that's the way the cookie crumbles... my family and pets were and are all safe, so that's what counts most... I look forward to some great conversations... :-)
