Welcome to The Most Active Atheist meet-up group on the South-side!

Hampton Roads Heathens, "Deities Ltd." Assembly ;^). Where "every day is a good day to be an atheist," imposing guilt on others is considered evil and atheists are good without god. This group consists of Atheists, Agnostics, Ethical Culturalists, Freethinkers, brights, Humanists, Naturalists and Secularists from the Hampton Roads area, offering a place for socializing and information about relevant news and local events of interests to heathens in general without risk of being threatened by believers in 'sky cake'.

Yes, what is it about the "bible belt"? I've been out of the States for a long time. Returning has really been a bit of a shock on the religion front. Maybe I just didn't notice before, but being a non-believer didn't seem to be so singular before (pre-1994 in my case). Now, I can't turn around without being confronted with everyone's "faith" and my lack of it. I don't mind what anyone wants to believe. It's their choice. I just get sick of hearing so much about it. So, I guess my question is: what's the deal with such a large part of the population "sharing" their religious thoughts and experiences with the rest of us?

On a more interesting front, how's your business doing in these difficult economic times?

All the best,

Hugh

Hi CA - So what's it like living in Virginia Beach and being a young person starting her own business. I can remember doing that many years ago and how much fun it was (and how scary, from time to time). Best regards, Hugh

"ORIGINS: Universe, Life, Humankind, Religion, Darwin..." with its hundred videos and discussion topics.
The group seeks to understand the mysteries of the universe, and how life and humans and religion and everything began. There's a lot to talk about.
