Because sometimes you only get beat up (or whatever) because of what makes you different. I'm not defending hate crimes laws, just pointing out what makes a hate crime a hate crime. A very over-simplified definition, at that.
I would love a Utah only draft. Utah is one of, if not the number one, pro-war, hawkish states in the nation but also has the lowest enlistment rate. Put your money where your mouth is, Mormons!

I used to be pretty active with these guys a few years ago http://atheists.meetup.com/478/ I just joined up again and I haven't made it to any meetings yet, but I'm pretty happy they're still around.
That's pretty interesting and I'm fairly sure there are some drugs involved with the developements of such theories.

You may live in one of those rare places that aren't hospitable to most wildlife, the sort of a place where only a human being (and their four-legged hangers-on, like rats and coyotes) would, or could, willingly reside.

Rather than asking myselfself "What if there is a God?" I ask myself "What sensible reasons do I have to suspect there might be a God?" The answer, of course, is none.
