Hi! My name's Brian. I was raised in a Catholic home, but even from a young age remained skeptical of this idea that a supreme being exists, and that this supreme being created and controls everything that exists. There were always too many questions that had to remain unanswered in a logical way for me to have "faith". I stopped going to church at the age of 12 when the Sunday school teacher told me I could either stay, and read the passage asked of me, or leave. So, I left. It was at that point that I really started to grasp, not only the logic of religion, but the moral foundation of it. For example, if you use the free-will that was granted to you by this "supreme being" and not believe in "him" then you are condemned to an eternity of torture and misery...but he love's you. This all knowing, all powerful, all wise being would condemn even the purist of souls, due to a lack of faith. I would never worship this kind of EVIL.

I thought you would appreciate my skewed view of the world. When I came on this site, I was fairly sure I would encounter many socialist and anti freedom atheists, I was pleasantly surprised.
Anywhoo...I also encourage open debate and hope to hear your contributions to my discussion topics.
As far as presidential candidates for 2012 go, Ron Paul is really the only choice for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see even a sliver of the truth.
Ron Paul did EXCELLENT in the Rupublican debate. But he can't win. If he was vice-president, no one would EVER consider assassinating the president. He just isn't personable.
Ron Paul did awesome in the debate. He'll never be president, but only because of human nature... people don't REALLY want TRUTH, they want a pretty lie that meshes with what they want or are taught to want.
