"It's not proselytising, it's correcting a misrepresentation of atheism as immoral, self-serving and hedonistic.
I appreciate your point of view. But do you really think that atheist charity will change that perception? Isn't that…"
"Many atheists post here, and elsewhere, stating their difficulty in finding truly secular charities to donate to - charities that they can be sure won't use their money to proselytise religion. Dale's Foundation fills an important gap.…"
"***what makes me angry is that we actually have to PROVE we're good people***
Exactly. You can quote all the prison statistics and studies you like (such as the low divorce/crime rates in Norway and Sweden) which show in favour of atheists, but…"
"How is this different than religions doing charity work to enhance their public image or establish their piety?
What's wrong with looking out for one another because of the awareness that we're all we have?

"My first exposure to tattoos was as a nursing student in the 1970s at a VA hospital. The tattoos had become mostly green blobs on the guys' dried out skin. I always have that image when I see a young person showing off her latest mark. I change…"
"Ms. Allen says "What atheists don't seem to realize is that even for believers, faith is never easy in this world of injustice, pain and delusion. Even for believers, God exists just beyond the scrim of the senses. So, atheists, how about…"
"Brilliant. I was thinking the other day that another money making idea would be to make large bets on the time of the Rapture. For centuries Christians have believed it's just around the corner. My idea is to make them put their money where…"
"I was feeling bad that an atheist's work was being criticized but I changed my mind. Just like minorities who say they have to be better than the majority group in their endeavors, so do atheists. We must be producing high quality documentaries…"
