I gave up.

Posted on September 3, 2010 at 11:29pm 1 Comment

I gave up trying to get my christian family and friends to think. The info I give them never gets through.No matter how sound my evidence it just does not compute. It is like they have a filter in thier brain that will not let any info contrary to what they believe through. They all ask me why I dont believe in god, but they dont really want answers.

I was talking to one the other day and she said she did not trust science. I told he that that was impossible. When she asked why I…

Believers are like Zombies

The other day I was chatting with a friend of mine on another site about the origins of the bible. I made the comment that it was interesting to me how people could still believe in the book even with the mountain of evidence against it. An aunt of mine chimmed in asking ,"what evidence?" I went through with her a lot of these evidences. We spent some time on the subject.

After it was all said and done all she said to me is,"I will pray for you." I thought to myself ," I bet she has…

Could Satan be the good guy?

First I want to say that I am not a satanist. I dont believe in him or anything like him. Just stick with me for a minute.

So god expeled Satan from heaven. What did Satan do? Did he think he could be more powerful than god? Or did he think he could do better than god? Maybe Satan saw how much of a prick god is and tryed to do something about it and god ,being a prick, kicked him out.

Everyone says that Satan is pure evil and that god is good. From what I have read I dont see…

Sugar coating Bible Stories

As a Child I remember hearing the stories of Noahs Ark and how god saved Noah his family and two of every animal. It was taught in such a way that it made me believe that god was good and loving. Looking at it through my child eyes I could just see god telling Noah how the ark must be built. I could imagine god leading all the animals to the ark two by two. This all amazed me as a child. The stories of Sodom and Gomorrah and the like were all taught to me as a child in such a way that I…

So I put the bible death count up on my facebook page. You know god= I dont know well say over 2 million killed. Satan 10. Most of my friends are Christians. Wow did I get some crazy responces.
Here is my favorite. " Brandon that just lets us know that god is a just god. Satan tempted all those people,even though god was the only one who could kill them."
Talk about insane ,right! I also had one tell me that she was going to stop praying for me. And that god would take all the angels away from me. She hoped that I would then find out just how powerful prayer was. I told her since she was having the angels go away she might as well tell them to take Santa and the Easter Bunny with them because it was getting pretty crowded around here. Man ,the crap people believe!

Hello Brandon
Welcome to this friendly meeting place with freethinkers who recognise that fictional gods and crafty religions have always been used to deceive and control vulnerable superstitious people including defenceless children;

Well I recently came out of the closet, so to speak, about my beliefs(or better put lack there of). I had no idea how popular someone could become. Not that this is a good thing comming from very Christian family.
