BradHAWK replied to Travis Brummett's discussion Are you still atheist if you believe in a afterlife?
"Either one is an opinion. More important are the foundations of those opinions. Enough is known about how the brain and its tissue work to know that there is no extrinsic phenomenon involved in its function. How does a machine work? By interaction…"

BradHAWK replied to Travis Brummett's discussion Are you still atheist if you believe in a afterlife?
"Exactly. Seeing it as it is rather than as we wish. I get the impression that even naturalistic people tend to frame their existential beliefs in a way that feels comfortable to them, rather than simply acknowledging an aversion to what is. (That…"

Hi BradHAWK,
Actually it was no big deal. Most of my friends and acquaintances here in Ireland are either Atheists or Agnostics themselves and the few Theists I have in my circle of friends know better than to try to proselytize me. It's not that we do not talk about religion and how it affects our lives, but when it comes to this topic my friends and I are of the same opinion: it's personal so don't try to make other people live by "laws" of your belief.

We welcome BradHAWK to this great meeting place where people recognise religion for the superstition and fraud that it is --- and that God and gods are nothing but fictions inside human heads.
