Boo replied to Adam's discussion Connection between childfree and godless? in the group The Childless and Godless
"I agree with B-Girl. There is indeed a correlation between level of education, religiosity, and number of children/no children.  In addition, I'd like to bring up psycho-social connotations. Without the belief of an afterlife, all matters…"

Boo replied to damian's discussion Great Article in the group The Childless and Godless
"What a fantastic article. It's almost funny the amount of negative comments she receives stem from pure jealousy. It almost seems as if those with children impose their views on the childless in a selfish and sad attempt to justify their own…"

Grinning Cat replied to Boo's discussion What's your favourite xkcd? in the group Atheist Humor
"Cat Proximity: http://xkcd.com/231/   (I think it's actually primitive-brain social intelligence, taking joy in being near the kitty, and overriding some of the usual self-censorship.)   Looking at the other xkcd's people…"

Boo replied to W Preston Gardner's discussion Why should an atheist care about the fine points of various religions?
"the major religions of today are epically interesting; just the same as any other mythology. it has implications in all sciences and social sciences: psychology, biology, anthropology, physiology, sociology, etc. since they all are nonsense, what…"

Boo replied to Ruth Anthony-Gardner's discussion Medium Effects and your brain in the group Hang With Friends
"Well... I'm not sure which type of BB (forums posting software) that's used here, but in most cases, it's easy enough to change the coding. This could mean reconfiguring the skin or placement of buttons so that whatever feature you…"

Boo replied to Max Bjork's discussion A link between peaceful nations and atheism? in the group Hang With Friends
"Agreed. Although atheism does not cause peace, parcontre, religion is cited as a reason for war. Therefore, by default, there is a greater chance of wars occurring in/from religious nations and a decreased chance from the majority of non-religious…"

Boo replied to Max Bjork's discussion A link between peaceful nations and atheism? in the group Hang With Friends
"Extremely interesting correlation. Thank you for posting this. Perhaps the link is as follows (speculation only): There is a massively high incidence of warring on a civil, global and interpersonal level in the name of religion. People who believe…"

Zhi Le replied to Boo's discussion Jerome Bixby's The Man from Earth in the group ORIGINS: UNIVERSE, LIFE, HUMANKIND, AND DARWIN
"Thanks for posting this. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it's already been said here; not the best made film (the acting can be stronger and script quite a bit tighter to feel like a courtroom drama) but definitely a gripping concept. Could…"

Boo replied to Boo's discussion Jerome Bixby's The Man from Earth in the group ORIGINS: UNIVERSE, LIFE, HUMANKIND, AND DARWIN

Apeman Jim replied to Boo's discussion Jerome Bixby's The Man from Earth in the group ORIGINS: UNIVERSE, LIFE, HUMANKIND, AND DARWIN
"I love that movie! It's in my top 5. I guess my appreciation is partially based on the idea of something other than a standard movie extraviganza, it was so cheaply done and takes place in a single room but holds your attention."

Boo replied to Boo's discussion Jerome Bixby's The Man from Earth in the group ORIGINS: UNIVERSE, LIFE, HUMANKIND, AND DARWIN
"I agree that if this were the case, we'd have to assume a lot things true. I think one of the most interesting points of this film is that, having seen all religion and folklore from all 4 corners of the earth, that the main character came to…"

Yeah, I hear ya! Don't think they get the point, you can believe what you want, just don't force it on others...especially by putting it in law. Tempted to tell them that they have changed my perspective on the issue...only in the wrong direction they'd like. I really did used to stand up for them here in AB (people here really do have a horrid opinion on Quebec). Not so sure anymore. Oh well, I guess I can still point out there are some sane ones like yourself there, at the very least (^_-).
