Greetings, Bonnie! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Hi,
Never heard of "Mr. Deity." Website? I've got one for you that I'm still plodding through. Check out, "Godlessbastard.com" There is a lot of density to the site. It's the work of an antheist Jew who is a 3 time cancer survivor and like me, he never had the "god virus." Although he did get Bar Mitzvahed which never occoured to me or my parents. Anywho, he really takes after the hypocriscy and sheer lunacy of, well, mostly Christianity; I'm asurmising this because his personal space has been violated more than once by well-meaning, but delusional types who ask Jesus to cure him. He doesn't mince words and doesn't suffer fools gladly

Hi Bonnie,

I escaped religion because my parents were never very religious and they divorced in the mid 1960's when I was very young. The fracturing of our family assured that what little religious affiliation (reform Judiasm) we had, went by the wayside. I never had any interest in seeking something beyond what I can see and comprehend with my own eyes. Through my years, I've been proselytized by Jews for Jesus, Scientologists, Christian Evangelicals, Moonies, Hare Krishnas and Nichiren Buddhists. I even dated a Seventh Day Adventist until I found out she was one. I'm impermiable to this nonsense, evidentally. So I see that you live in SLC. That must be interesting for the obvious reason!

Hi Bonnie,

I checked out Thinking Atheist" on Youtube. Very refreshing to see that those who were infected with the "god virus" can emerge and become rational thinkers. Now there's the true meaning of "born again." Since you're a member of "Atheist Humor" check out Pat Condell on youtube. His rants against religion are brilliant, incisive and spot on.

Hi Bonnie,
I've only been 'out' for a short time and luckily I live in Austin, a pretty open-minded city, but yes, the State Board of Education in Texas definitely seems to be taking tragic steps back in time...and also rewriting history along the way. I really hope something can be done too.

Nice to 'meet' you on here:)

Hi Bonnie,

How long have you been a member of Lexus?

Are you familiar with or been to Alberta Canada?
I came close to going to your area during the Olympics but had to cancel at the last minute. My son in law was an Olympic Luge competitor.
