Daniel B commented on Bill E's group 'Santa Cruz Atheists'
Hi. I'm in Morgan Hill, so a bit of a drive, but if the group ever does rise from the dead, so to speak, to meet for food or beers, hopefully I could make it.

In the past, the 19th century, American English had a pronoun meaning he or she. The word was thon. For some reason it dropped out of common usage. I feel, that, today, with the emphasis on being nonsexist, this could and probably should make a…

I believe I have just coined a word describing a person who is enamored of and pursues the odd, the weird, the off the wall. The word is bizarrophiliac.

I like that. Very sensible to borrow a good word when we seem to be lacking one. That's why English is so gloriously chaotic. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hey, that's nice to hear. Lappeenranta is a nice town, especially in summer....little boring in winter though. I've lived here for about 5 years. Your photos are beautiful, I recognize Helsinki's Kalliokirkko there..

Thanks, Bill, I'll check it out. Yeah, I sang at Harold Washington's funeral when I was like ten...that was ages ago. I sang at the funeral with a choir I was in called, ironically, "All God's Children".

Yeah, my main concern for my kids at this point is that my sister/bro in law are VERY religious and Christian and I'm constantly putting out fires like "Mommy, are you going to hell because you don't believe in Jesus?" I love my sister, but I hate that she tries to program my kids to feel fear for the soul of their mother. Now that they're getting older it's a little easier for them to figure these things out on their own, but it's scary to think something could happen to your mom. Also, I had to explain to them that Santa didn't exist pretty regularly as my parents couldn't help but perpetuate the lie year after year. I think we're over that now, too, though. How old are your little ones?

Hi Bill. My kids are 6, 5 and 3. How old are your two?

You've sure put a lot of work into this page. I'll be sure to take the time to look at it later. (And perhaps it will inspire me to work on mine.)

Beautiful photos!
