Stop praying for me........ you are putting me on a level not equal to yours!

I recently came out as an atheist to friends and even my family. I have a close friend that is gay as well and has been christian his whole life, went to christian schools, dad's a preacher, etc....... and every time we are together he lets me know how sad he is and how he is praying for me. " I'm worried about you and my heart is sad"..... seriously makes me want to puke. I feel like I have to give him some sort of respect for his beliefs even though I know its ridiculous.
