"House Bill 368 passed on April 7, now watch out for Senate Bill 0893. This bill is disguised as promoting critical thinking and scrutinizing scientific evidence, but in actuality is a classic creationist "Teach the Controversy" bill.…"
Hi Ben! I'm Kris. As well as hosting the Aussie/Kiwi group here on Nexus, I'm also the media and communications consultant for the forthcoming "Rise of Atheism" Global Atheist Convention to be held in Melbourne in March 2010. The Convention is being organized jointly by Atheist Alliance International and the Atheist Foundation of Australia.
I wonder if you could let your members know that tickets for the convention are now available online at the Convention website. We are expecting nearly 3,000 delegates, so this convention is going to be huge.
Confirmed speakers include: Richard Dawkins, AC Grayling, PZ Myers, Dan Barker, Peter Singer, Taslima Nasrin and many more.
Anything you can do to help us get the word out would be greatly appreciated.
He Ben, I'm a musician too. I checked out your imdb page. Congrats on all the work. I've done some film and TV work myself - never scored anything but lots of soundtrack stuff. Played in Nashville a bunch, too, most recently at that big thing on the riverfront a couple summers ago.
I've not seen the Film Mr. Brooks. Although I was insulted by some of the portrayal of Portland in the Film "The Hunted" with Benicio Del Toro and Tommy lee Jones.. they filmed it in Portland and couldn't get the geography of the city even remotely correct.
I actually grew up in Milwaukee and lived there for almost thirty years. I know it well, but I haven't been back there for twenty-five years. I suppose it's changed by now. Currently, I live closer to Minneapolis. My husband calls it "God's country" (tongue in cheek, of course), and I love living here. Lots of churches and piety, though, so it's relief meeting other atheists.
