Barbara Livingston commented on Daniel W's group Godless in the garden
"Daniel, "solarize" that's the word! Thanks. Why make work for myself, eh?  If it works, don't fix it - I'll add a bit of compost and call it good. And this year I'll make a note of what I plant in each pot and next…"

"Randall, we are well-above our average - 80 yesterday. It may appear I'm industrious, but keep in mind everything I'm doing is new. First veggie garden, first compost pile, first planting of trees, etc. All the planning, the great lists,…"

"Randy, no cellar here. Guess I'll just have to freeze or can. Spud, we can get an awful lot out of a small space. Mine is small and yet I'm encouraged. I have fleeting thoughts of a larger property, and then quickly say no as I've too…"

Barbara Livingston commented on Daniel W's blog post The meaning and value of work.
"Well done, Daniel.  Made me think about the years I spent working.  I too began young, at fourteen when I left home.  I mostly kept my head down, kept my nose clean, and got on with it. I always worked two jobs; always an 8-5 office…"

"Ahhh, progress!  Both trees and all berry bushes have many new buds and leaves in just a couple of weeks. I'm taking that to mean they are alive and growing. I feel like I should start a 'baby book' to track their progress.…"

"Wow, another learning example for me - different sizes, shapes and colors because they are hybrid! And I thought they just woldn't germinate.  Well, that should be fun! And if I keep saving seeds and planting them will I eventually arrive…"

"Joan, my biggest problem is that I often want to do something as "cheap and easy as possible".  However, painful as it has been, that often is not the best way. Nothing beats doing it correctly - i.e. laying the pavers in sand turns…"

Is this a step toward reason?

I read this article in today's news and couldn't help but feel positive. Surely it isn't just another way of putting out the "Christian Message", at least I hope it isn't.

Local News Ohio physicist, minister debate existence of God

I really  could relate to you when reading  your reply  to Amanda Ashcrafts thread on Atheism......I am 66 and recently became  attracted  to Atheism...finding quite  a lot of diversity.....However we all do  agree that their is no god and that religion is mostly  based  on  fables and myths....Ever since I inquired about joining  the American Humanist Association, and read the book they sent  "Non Believer Nation" by David Niose, I knew that Atheism fit perfectly into  how I believed...It answered  most of my questions, and gave me peace of mind....It wasn't long before I discovered A/N and made lots of friends  with like  minded  people.....I look forward to your threads  and blogs, so we can share our views...

Thanks for the friend invitation. I used to do that, but didn't figure it had any particular value. It's just a nice thing to do, I suppose!
