Still lonely after all these years...

Hi folks,To sum up my situation: I live in a very fundy community, but not far from communities that are much more secular. The problem is I'm sick a lot of the time and disabled and I can't drive all the way to those communities. Anything more than--say--45 minutes away is too far. There are no atheist meetups here and the only one that is fairly close--one hour away--isn't well attended. Starting a meetup here would be a waste of time and I don't have the energy.So. I'm really lonely. The other…See More

I'm tired of being two people.

You'd think "coming out" to my family would get rid of that feeling, wouldn't you? Well, guess what? Unless your family, friends and community let you be yourself, the feeling of being two different people doesn't go away. All this week I've dreamed about yelling at various people, just letting everything out. And people wonder why I'm so tired all the time. I can't remember if I already posted this. I did a search for my name and it didn't turn up, so here goes: …See More

Greetings, Atheist in FundyLand! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

I just read some of your blog and LOVED it! I'm totally jealous, in fact.  I have a lot of work to do on my new blog to make it half as cool as yours and I doubt I'll ever be able to get there.  I can very much relate to the idea of wanting to be like Dawkins--a hardcore atheist--but just not being able to do it, being a woman and all.  I'm thinking that we should be atheist super hero women together. ;)

If you're lonely, send me a message! I like to talk and talk and talk. I followed your link to your blog and like it very much.

Sorry if I sound like a creeper, but the thought of someone being lonely always makes me sad.

Hello and welcome to this wonderful world of freethinkers with their good sense, intelligent reasoning, and freedom from believing in fictional gods.

Religion means control, which sadly so often starts by indoctrinating innocent children.
