Annie Thomas replied to Ruth Anthony-Gardner's discussion Don't let kids under four cry it out in the group Parenting Little Heathens
"This was a sad report to read.  40% seems so very high.  I never understood the "cry it out" method to parenting. "

"Wow!  That's a lot of rain!  Here in North Central Florida we've hat the wettest July in 105 years.  I think it rained all but two days last month. "

"Ooh!  Nice head of broccoli!  When you no longer get any florets, we like to peel the stem, slice it into thin medallions, and squirt a little Bragg's on it.  Yum!  Enjoy. "

Hi. I'm fairly new, so I checked your profile. I'm a retired middle school science teacher. I also do volunteer service trips for a group called Wilderness Volunteers. Check them out (.org). Trouble is, most of their trips are out west, although I've done 3 in Florida (Caladesi I., off Dunedin).

Hi Annie! It's great that you (as an Atheist that know great deal of science) are teaching science at a private elementary school. ...I always thought that private schools were Christian or some kind of religious schools.

My oldest son lived in Gainesville until he graduated this year in May. He studied electrical engineering at UF. During the first months, after he moved there, we drove from Sanford to Gainesville every other weekend to spend some time with him. The same week when he graduated he was offered a full-time position at a big company in Orlando as an associate engineer (we all were very happy for him). My other two sons (13 and 16) have always been home-schooled, but maybe next year, they will go to a traditional school.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your article on Friendly Atheist. I'm not sure if I find Kirk Cameron and his talk funny or slightly sinister, but thank you nonetheless for enduring it for our reading pleasure.

Who would have guessed you were around the corner?  :)

I went to a group on campus a few times last year, but it wasn't very engaging.  Online groups/discussions/lectures/shows/friends are nice, but it sure would be great if something local was happening.

Anyway, thanks for accepting and have a great evening.
