Anybody planning on having a Darwin day dinner? What are you going to serve? My little one suggested to grill some Darwin Fish and cook Primordial Stew. We gotta come up with more ideas. Anyone?

People with religious faith tend to be happier than those without?

Cows and Bulls are also happier than us because they too don't have a thinking mind. All the Bullheads seem to enjoy more.

The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality. – George Bernard Shaw

Well - you might want to serve dairy products (bovine) - since the ability to digest it (for those who aren't lactose intolerant) appears to be one of homo sapiens sapiens most recent evolutionary advancements.

Me too, I'm lucky enough to have parents who both are and always were open-closet atheists. However, my grandmother made herself a big part of my life, and she was starting and ending her days with prayers, fasting, celebrating all religious…

My assertion is based on the God that I was reared to believe in. An omnipotent, omnipresent and benevolent God. This is the God that most Christians believe in. My assertion also comes from Jesus healing people. God (who was Jesus), when faced with…

"Well a truly perfect God would have truly perfect products." What is your reasoning for this assertion? Supposing that a being existed who could create a self-contained universe and wanted that universe to be perfect we might assume that…

Me 3. I remember I once wanted to believe in god, I was very young and it was a dark moment. Things got better on their own, sh** happens, but I never felt as weak as back then.

Yes, me too. I always questioned my religion, now I do not question atheism. I have never felt more sure of my beliefs.

Me either! If anything I am bolstered, mentally, by it. :D Prolly why I can't help but think of people who need religion as weak... I felt weak as a theist and strong as a non-theist.

I feel for you about the peer cruelty, majority of kids at certain age do get to become ruthless, there is evolutionary explanation for that. The good thing is that most of them eventually outgrow it. But no one needs humiliation coming from…

I am soooooo not humiliated, terrified, and guilt ridden in life as an Atheist and moral realtivist. How could I be?

Well a truly perfect God would have truly perfect products. We would not be rule breakers, we would only have the will of what is best for the greater good and humanity. So if God (and not religion) did exist, I would be grateful.

Religion doesn't always bring about guilt, terror humiliation and fear any differently than simply living life. It sure does bring those differently. Humiliation and guilt in a secular life happen, but are not continuous, in religion - they are…

Hello, and a friendly welcome to Anna Seropyan.
We are pleased to see you here among the sensible, rational people of this world.
And we think. Therefore we are.

This is the great Nexus meeting place with its thousands of bright people like you who recognise religion for the superstition and brainwashing fraud that it is---
and that gods exist only as fictions inside people's heads.

Terry Meaden
originator of the busy discussion group
"ORIGINS: Universe, Life, Earth, Humankind, Fossils, Religion, Evolution, Darwin..." with its over 240 discussion topics.

We invite you to come and see, and to make good new friends.
