I'm leaving A/N because it's not the right fit for me (translation: some people are arseholes an I've got more important battles to fight and idiots to inform), but I'm not leaving the atheist internet as a whole!

You can still keep in touch with me in a shocking variety of ways. Remember when land line phone was the *only* way to reach someone? Hah! That's not even on the list, but everything else is.

I started compiling the list over the summer, and now it is finished. I have a list of 100 NEW Questions for Christians. Okay, so maybe someone has used these before. But they are not the usual questions atheists approach theists with (or respond to theists with) like the Problem of Pain or the immorality of hell (or genocide or having rape victims marry their rapists, etc.) These are new questions like, what does God think of abortion? What would Jesus do? and Are gay dolphins sinning when… Continue

Chatting with a Mormon Missionary: Take 7

Today I'll be posing as David, asking questions on the nature of certainty and how anyone can really know anything about "god".

You are speaking live with Katie, who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Information provided in this session is to provide assistance only and is not an official statement of the Church.

Katie: hello

Greetings, Angie! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Wow, yummy mummy!

Pity you live in sunny Florida and I live in jolly old Blighty. Any woman who looks like you do and has a Dawkins clip on her page to boot is a long way towards being my potential dream woman.

I gotta get stateside one of these days, the atheists there seem to be so much more like a bunch of hotties (not including the delicious British writer Ariane Sherine)!

Not believing in an afterlife does not mean i am a "sad' person.

I work in healthcare in a long term care facility and I deal with death on a regular basis. About a year ago the opportunity arose for me to take a palliative care course through my work.  I enjoyed it for the most part. It dealt with topics such as end of life care, pain relief and addressing the spiritual needs of different individuals based on their religious beliefs. There was one instance however that was decidedly unpleasant, and unfortunately really overshadowed the rest of my time in the…See More
