I'd rather not get too specific about my department here in the interest of erring on the side of caution, so I'll just say I work in cellular biology.

Good on you for doing volunteer research and congratulations on the little one!

I'm sure he doesn't mind coming to small places like this as long as the local church groups can cover whatever it is he charges for appearances. I really wanted to go and ask him about unicorns and dragons but I'll be out of town...maybe next time.

And I love doing research! I could always stand to get a little more money to be doing it, but if money was the only thing I was after I'd probably be doing something else altogether. As everyone knows, the bigtime research money is in climate science. (kidding)

Congrats on graduating! I actually don't go to school at the university; my job is to basically look exactly like a grad student without being one.

By the way, if you're feeling particularly confrontational or masochistic this weekend, Ken Ham and his AiG ilk are putting on a fake science conference at Freedom Hall.

Hello Angie, and welcome to this friendly meeting place where freethinking atheists recognise that gods are phoney and religion is a fraud used to control people;
and how tragic and inexcusable it is that women and minorities have been oppressed these last two thousand years and more.
