Greetings, Angelia! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since 2009. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.
Hi Angelia. My search for intelligent people has also landed me here. My experiences with atheists as a child was them ridiculing everything and everyone but not offering any option of their own. If only 12% of the population is able to free itself from dogma and fanaticism it is probably because they are of higher intelligence, and if they are, perhaps there is a lot more they can do with it. It is time for people of mature intelligence to run the affairs of the world. If you agree, let's talk.
There are many groups for you to check out and see what interests you. We recently started another new group, "Conversations on Race, Ethnicity, and Culture" and are hoping for diverse insights. Please feel free to check us out and, if interested, join and share your thoughts and experiences!
